What is EYS Coaching?
EYS coaching is a collaborative process where we work together to create a home that reflects who you are and is not only beautiful to you, but is also functional for day to day living. You’re the expert on how you live, what you like, what makes you happy – I help you get clear on your must-haves, nice to have and joy sparkers and work with you to formulate an action plan that will give you a home that will make you smile every time you walk through the front door. Even if you tend to have tastes outside your current budget (hello, I’m right there with you!), I have many tricks up my sleeve that I can teach you to “Engineer Your Space” into something that you love within whatever constraints you’re working with.
How does EYS Coaching work?
This isn’t your typical interior designer/ client type of arrangement where the designer makes all the decisions and then hires contractors do the work. EYS coaching is for someone that wants to learn how to transform their space on their own, and would like someone to guide them, give ideas, and a step by step plan to follow to make it happen. My role as a coach is to point you in the right direction, help you make decisions, give you options for various budget/DIY levels, and to brainstorm solutions as challenges come up. Successfully transforming a space requires both thoughtful planning AND dedicating time to make it happen, so another part of my role as your coach is to serve as an accountability partner to keep you on track and motivate you to get to the finish line.
1-1 Virtual Consultations
I offer 1 hour virtual consultations via Skype for people who would like to pick my brain or help solving a particular challenge they are having with their home.
6 week Program
This program is for someone looking to transform a room or a large space. Throughout the entire process, I provide email support to answer questions as they come up as well as 2 ½ hrs of virtual face-to-face coaching time.
Here’s an example of what the EYS Coaching process looks like:
Goal: Jane is looking to Incorporate a home office in her apartment: she just started freelancing as a massage therapist and needs a dedicated space for her massage table but she lives in a small 1 bedroom apartment and has no idea where to put it without making her entire apartment look like a work space.
Week 1: Jane’s homework
Step 1: Answer a detailed questionnaire about what she’s looking to do or change in her home, why she’s making this change, what she wants her space to look like (style, colors, feeling), and what is her budget and timeline.
Step 2: Take lots of pictures of her space, along with all the items she’s wanting to keep and get rid of or repurpose – these are uploaded to a Pinterest board that we both have access to.
Step 3: Draw a freehand floor plan of her space with dimensions (and elevations) – pencil and paper is all that’s needed for this or she can use sketchup or sweethome3D (both free software)
Week 2: My homework
Step 4: Review Jane’s questionnaire answers, the pictures and the plan.
Step 5: 30 min Skype or Zoom call to answer any questions I may have
Step 6: Come up with some Initial ideas and a step-by-step plan (includes a 3D rendering of the space with the proposed layout)
Week 3: Our work together
Step 7: 60 min coaching session (via Skype or Zoom) to review the proposed plan and answer any questions Jane may have.
Step 8: I provide any revisions to the plan based on what we discuss on the call, including a timeline based on Jane’s schedule.
Week 4-6: Jane gets to work transforming her space
Step 9: Jane gathers the materials/tools/etc needed for any DIY project
Step 10: Jane executes the plan, during which time I’m available to answer questions, problem-solve and keep the project on track (this can be via email or during one to two 30 minute Skype or Zoom coaching calls).
Week 7: Jane enjoys her transformed space and starts getting to work!
In my experience, our homes are never truly quite “finished”. A home is a work in progress constantly evolving. Life brings on changes to sometimes mean where we live has to change, like moving to a new city, downsizing or moving in with someone. Often this means the place we call home needs to change to adapt to our new circumstances . We also grow as people, our tastes change, our goals and aspirations for ourselves evolve and as a result, what made us happy and brought us joy 5 years ago may not be cutting it anymore. Ultimately, my goal in working with you is to give you the tools and confidence to make yourself at home no matter where you live.
Before working with Isabelle, I had no idea how I would be able to fit a home office into my small apartment. She helped me see what was possible and re-evaluate my priorities for my space and what I really needed in terms of furniture. Having her as a coach really motivated me to get this project done and I couldn’t be happier with the results – I love my home office and find my productivity has gone up when working at home since I’ve made the changes. The best part is that I have a designated space for working from home as well as an actual living room space to relax and host. None of this would’ve been possible without her help. I am forever thankful!
“Working with Isabelle these past several weeks have been a game changer. With her guidance and advice, she’s given me a different way of looking at a space, no matter the size or quality and more importantly, the confidence to transform my tiny 200 ft2 rental studio into a functional and aesthetically pleasing space that feels like home. I went from someone who doodles ideas into a sketchbook to being the guy who takes a tape measure into Home Depot. Thanks again, Isabelle! EYS!”

“We had the privilege of having her as a special guest at our Women United March Quarterly Meeting on March 14, 2019, in San Bernardino, CA. Her presentation style is very conversational and truly keeps the audience engaged. Her candor and humor kept you wanting to learn and hear more of her experience. Sharing deeply personal moments with the audience made her inspirational story and message one that each person could relate to and wanted to take and tailor to their lives or sneak into their goals. We hope to find more opportunities to work with Isabelle in the future.”

“I have had the privilege of having Isabelle on multiple WIF panels at Digital Hollywood. She is an exceptional asset. The audience can easily relate to her and her journey!
A journey I can personally attest to, as Isabelle’s first participation some years back was as a “newcomer.” She is now a leader in the industry, having her own highly successful channel on YouTube, being a recognized brand in the DIY world, and having conquered the entrepreneurial world as a woman.
As a triple threat, you can rely on Isabelle to provide significant input on different topics from influencer, to female entrepreneur, from engineer, to creator. She is very personable, highly knowledgeable and completely comfortable participating to large conferences or smaller workshops.
I look forward to our next opportunity to collaborate; as I know it will be a success.”
