How to build a bench for a banquette

I needed some seating for my small dining room and have always wanted banquette seating so I designed and built a bench with MDF. You'll see in this video how easy it was to build  - I had all the pieces cut at the hardware store and putting together everything only required a drill and a few hand tools! I added an upholstered panel and wall panels that I also made and used an inexpensive dining table and chairs from IKEA (which I also got a makeover!) to complete the seating area. It took a while to complete the whole thing but I love it!

Wow! Thank you so much…your projects never cease to amaze me. You give me confidence and the PDFs are icing on the already good cake!! Keep up the good work and I pray for your continued success. Oh, I just knee the back part of the seat was next. It’s like a good TV series for me…the suspense is real…lol! Thank you.

That’s so great to hear, and I’m happy that the pdf’s are helpful! I split up the projects to make things easier for watching but I can see how it would create some suspense LOL! Thank you for watching and for sticking around for the “to be continued”….!

Your video inspired me to build an entry bench with a shoe-rack and a matching mirror-frame. I made the depths of the bench a little narrower, but used your measurement for the rest. Thank you for sharing your great ideas!

    • Isabelle

Wow, thank you so much for sharing your project with me Rie! I love it! I love the addition of the shoe rack to the bench and the mirror looks great too! Do you mind if I share it with others on FB and Pinterest? I know they will be inspired with your project as well. Thanks again for sharing!
